Research Description

My research interests focus on substance use and mood/anxiety disorders, and how these two domains interact across development. I’m particularly interested in refining how these outcomes are defined in research by making use of endophenotypes, longitudinal trajectories, mixture models, and other methods that attempt to disentangle the heterogeneity inherent in such complex traits, in order to better understand the unique sets of genetic predispositions and environmental exposures that lead people from all different walks of life to develop problems with alcohol, depression, anxiety – or all of these.
