Research Description
I am a research assistant for R21 led by Dr. Christina Sheerin-Smith. I am an emerging behavioral health researcher whose work centers on trauma, stress, and alcohol‑use comorbidities in young adult populations. My research experience spans data collection, large‑scale dataset analysis, and scientific communication through conference presentations and collaborative research meetings. While working under Dr. Ananda Amstadter and Dr. Patricia Kinser at Virginia Commonwealth University, I contributed to projects examining PTSD symptoms and alcohol consumption among college students, SPSS and ethical research practices. I also had the opportunity to presented findings at the ABRCMS national conference, where I engaged in diverse audiences and communicated data‑driven recommendations. My interests include mental‑health disparities, and improving research accessibility for Latino communities through bilingual communication and culturally responsive engagement.
