Drs. Hoang Nguyen and Thang Dinh Awarded Grant through Child Health Research Institute (CHRI)

Drs. Hoang Nguyen and Thang Dinh were awarded a grant through The Child Health Research Institute (CHRI) Collaborative Research Grant Program, entitled “Genetic Architecture of Neurodevelopmental Disorders: A Pilot Study Integrating Biobank-Scale Sequencing, Phenotypic Data, and Deep Learning Analysis.” The team, which brings together complementary backgrounds and skill sets, aims to better understand the genetic architecture of neurodevelopmental disorders. They propose to analyze rare variants using large-scale healthcare records and sequencing biobank datasets to prioritize variants, genes, and biological pathways associated with these conditions. They will then employ deep learning approaches to integrate genetic and omic signals, improving the statistical power of their analyses. This collaborative effort includes Drs. Tan-Hoang Nguyen (MPI, VIPBG), Thang Dinh (MPI, Department of Computer Science), Ruth Brown (co-I, VIPBG), and Brien Riley (co-I, VIPBG).
