Research Description

My research uses genome-wide data to better understand how genetic and environmental experiences jointly shape human health and behavior, with a particular focus on substance use disorders. Across these projects, a central goal is to understand heterogeneity within diagnoses, including why individuals with the same condition may show very different patterns of risk and resilience. Additionally, I am interested in integrating traditional family-based statistical approaches with modern genomic techniques in order to study how certain traits cluster within families across generations. Collectively, this work aims to capture the complexity of disease processes in ways that are both biologically grounded and clinically meaningful.
