Research Description
I am conducting rare variant analysis on whole-genome sequencing data from multiplex schizophrenia families. My work began with processing raw CRAM files, performing essential steps like QC, variant calling, and annotation using tools such as GATK, Bcftools, and VEP to prepare the data for analysis. This annotation includes crucial metrics like LOEUF, pLI, LOFTEE, and MPC, which help prioritize and interpret the functional impact of identified variants. Currently, I am focused on analyzing these rare variants within pedigrees to identify significant genetic variants and candidate genes associated with schizophrenia. In parallel, I am also investigating Copy Number Variations (CNVs) in Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) using large-scale genomic data from the All of Us Research Program and the UK Biobank. This project aims to identify CNV associations with AUD and further understand its genetic architecture.
