Dr. Amanda Elswick Gentry Awarded K01 From NIH NIAAA

Dr. Amanda Elswick Gentry, Ph.D. was awarded a K01 from the NIH NIAAA (K01AA031748). A five-year professional and research development award mentored by Dr. Ken Kendler, MD, this project will investigate the interacting genetic and environmental effects contributing to alcohol use disorders with co-morbid major depressive disorder.

The 2020 VIPBG Excellence Awards Announced

The Virginia Institute for Psychiatric and Behavioral Genetics pre- and post-doc awards were announced on December 16, 2020. This year, the awardees include Eva Lancaster, who received the Kenneth S. Kendler Award for Excellence in Pre-Doctoral Research, and Amanda Gentry, Ph.D., who accepted the Lindon Eaves Post-Doctoral Award. Ms. Lancaster has been working with Roseann Peterson, Ph.D., and Dr. Gentry has been working with Ananda Amstadter, Ph.D.
